Calisto was built in 1944 as a Naval Vessel but today she is a very comfortable, luxury superyacht that will take you on an adventure along the beautiful coasts and through the islands of Thailand.
Her interior features rich mahogany, fine handcrafted carpentry, luxurious fabrics and plush seating which provides an elegant, comfortable atmosphere. The saloon is a great place to relax and boasts a large LCD HD TV and audio system, her dining room provides a cosy ambiance where you can enjoy superb food and quality wines.
Guest accommodation is provided by 3 double and two twin staterooms all en-suite and with A/C. There are also 2 spacious single cabins (1 being en-suite).
Calisto boasts a large selection of water toys including the opportunity to explore below the surface with her own dive gear and dinghies. If that is too exhilarating then there is plenty of space on deck to just kick back and read a book while topping up your tan or find a shady spot under an awning.
She is offered for charter at the “all inclusive” rate of 45,250 € or 60,500 $US a week (including food – a la carte menu choice, beverages – top local quality and imported wines and 4 hours of cruising/day for up to 12 guests).
A Short History
Calisto was built in 1944 as a YMS-1 class minesweeper FOR THE USA Navy but was transferred to the British Royal Navy were she served with distinction for a decade.
In 1954 she was purchased by the tycoon and former MP Thomas Loel Guinness who also owned the famed La Calypso of Jacques Cousteau. Under Mr. Guinness’s supervision the Calisto was converted into his own private yacht and just like her sister Calypso she was perfect for high sea exploration while providing old world charm.
She has sailed all around Europe often with politician and celebrities on board. In the late 1950’s a French Family purchased the yacht and maintained and enjoyed the yacht for the next 40 years.
In 2007 Calisto sailed from France to Singapore were she underwent a major refit and started a new adventure of roaming the fabled sea’s of Thailand.
