The Indian Ocean straddles both sides of the Equator, has the coasts of 4 continents and is dotted with large and small islands, safe to say, it is big. From it’s northern coast of Asia to the shores of Antarctica and from Africa across to Australia this vast ocean is home to islands such as Madagascar, the world’s fourth largest island, Comoros, Seychelles, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, the worlds lowest country, to name just a few.
Many of the oceans islands are uninhabited and so your own superyacht is the perfect way to visit deserted isles, explore and enjoy the solitude before returning to on-board luxury and planning the next day.
Diving in the crystal clear underwater world is an experience not to be missed and if you have not dived before some yachts offer instruction so that you can get up close to a watery world that is home to manta rays, giant frog fish, turtles, hammerheads and perhaps the rare whale sharks.
From the time of the Tea Clippers racing from Europe and back, the China Clippers laden with silk and spices to the huge tankers carrying the modern day gold, Oil, the Indian Ocean has been a busy place. Today you can relax, unwind and enjoy the laid back destinations that this wonderful ocean provides on your own chartered superyacht.
